York Area Bird News

Basically I decided to set up a Twitter feed for York Area bird news, focussing on local rarities and scarcities occurring in the York Area.

The 'York Area' is defined by the York Ornithological Club, a map of which can be found here

If you are already on Twitter then just go to the @Yorkbirding feed here and click follow

If you aren't on Twitter yet, then head to https://twitter.com/ and register an account then click on the link above and follow the @Yorkbirding feed to start recieving your bird news.

This feed can then be viewed on a smartphone using a Twitter app whilst you are out and about so that you won't miss out on any local bird news. You can also set up mobile notifications through Twitter so that you receive a text with each tweet of bird news in the York Area.

This news feed is totally free to follow and the bird news put on here is taken from a variety of local sources including birders in the field, the York Birding email list and local birders on Twitter.

An example of the latest tweets from the York Birding twitter feed, showing some of the bird news that you would receive.
